I like using SAP as you could select multiple rows of data, copy it to the clipboard and then use this list to search. However, in MAXIMO, it’s is not that easy.
Say you have a large list of Work Orders that you want to search and export that data to Excel to perform some other analysis, how would you do this? I recently came across a macro that can be used to do this and hope that you find this useful.
1. Save the excel file as a macro file *.xlsm file first.

How to make status summary report using IF and SUMIF excel function for text data
This is one of the sample techniques to make summary report. Although most of the project and maintenance software can produce summary report, we need additional customized reports to be produced as and when required. The result of this technique is similar to using IF function and pivot table wizard. The difference is that it is not reliable to make customized format or presentable format although the final data is the same.
This method is reliable and customizable as required. It can be prepared in a short time if you know how to use IF and SUMIF function very well. The latest status report can be viewed immediately once the latest information is imported or updated.
How to Use SUMIF Function for Progress Analysis
SUMIF function is used to sum up the required data which they match criteria. It is utilized to analyse the data in a database or spreadsheet. For example, the idea is that you want to get the total number of pipe diameter-inch produced in the week and less than 4” pipe size from a table or you may want to get the total number of goods sold in last month and more than profit margin and so on. The data can be analysed by one or more criteria using SUMIF function.
Suppose we already have a list of isometric drawings against the diameter-inch completed for a project as shown in Fig-1.

Excel Tutorial-Creating Histogram Chart
Histogram chart is commonly used in the reporting and presentation of data by showing graphical image for quick view. For example, you may want to compare your monthly income and expend for Jan 2009 to Jun 2010.
(1) Monthly income and expend data should be already with you and it can be completed in an excel sheet as shown in Fig.1
